Week 5

The beginning of this week was a very hectic one with work. We were getting ready to go on an exercise which would last for a couple of weeks. I had already planned out what text books I needed to take with me so I could do the prescribed reading for the weeks that I would be out of civilisation.

I found half of the readings for this week to be quite useful but the other half I couldn’t really relate to. The use of CIRAC I actually use every time I am confronted with a problem at work but it was a subconscious thinking process and actions, I didn’t have an acronym for it. More so thinking I find is a very important part of resolve and I tend to probably ponder on things a bit more than what I should.

I didn’t really enjoy reading about the different types of philosophy that were detailed in chapter 11 which is being about being realistic. I do like theory behind practicality, and I also enjoy practicality but when philosophy starts becoming deep into why theory is the way it is, well that’s when my attention starts to wander. This chapter however did have a positive about it and that would be that amongst all the different categories that had been explained, it made me wonder which one I would actually fit into. In saying that I still haven’t made my decision yet on which one I actually fit into.
